Curcumin is non-toxic and has many pharmacological effects, such as choleric, anti-infection, paralytic contraction of the uterus, lowering blood cholesterol, antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant (stronger than α-tocopherol), anticoagulant, lowering blood lipid, and anti-atherosclerosis.
